Shoe Bradshaw officially has a new home.

And Just Like That star Sarah Jessica Parker announced she officially adopted her on-screen cat from the Max series this past April. The actress made the touching reveal in an Instagram post shared this week, featuring adorable pictures of herself with the newest addition to her family.

“His off-camera name is Lotus,” she wrote. “He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety.”

She said Lotus was officially adopted by herself and her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, in April 2023. “He joins Rémy and Smila whom we adopted in May 2022,” she said. “If he looks familiar, that’s because he is.”

In Season 2, Carrie adopted and named her new companion Shoe Bradshaw after he was rescued by Che (Sara Ramirez).

Actress Kristin Davis commented on Parker’s post, writing, “Love [him] so much.”

PETA also commented in support of Parker’s decision to adopt. “Thank you for welcoming him into your family and making a difference for homeless animals everywhere by promoting adoption!”

We’ll likely be seeing more of Carrie and Shoe Bradshaw in And Just Like That Season 3. The show was recently renewed for

“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” series creator Michael Patrick King said in a statement. “And Just Like That… Here comes season three.”

And Just Like That Season 2 featured a couple of bombshell surprises, including a memorable cameo from Kim Cattrall’s iconic character, Samantha Jones. Though Cattrall will not be returning to the series, Season 3 will likely have a few surprises of its own.

And Just Like That Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Max.
